I know that it has been a long time since we posted last. Life happens. We spend thanksgiving up in Atlanta. We were driving up and around Cordele or so, we noticed that the battery light and the brake light were going on. Well, we pulled off at a rest stop and did not know what was happening. I was a little worried, so after the pitstop with a new diaper and all, I opened the hood. I checked the belts and looked at the battery. Not seeing anything wrong, I went ahead and closed the hood, we said another prayer, and off we went to Atlanta. It should be said that Cordele is almost half way to Atlanta.

So, we kept going. About 30 miles outside of Atlatna, the traffic slowed down to about 20 mph. I quickly tried to assess the situation. There were no roads nearby that would be better for traveling. I pulled out the emergency CB that I had for well over 10 years now... yes that one I used to tell blonde jokes to the truckers with... and listened a while until I heard some one say that the only accident blocking the traffic was the holiday accident. We stuck with it and made it through the 45 minutes of traffic when we finally returned to normal speed.

We got to the Grandparents and enjoyed the afternoon there. Michael started helping Grandpa install the new wood flooring. We talked and relaxed.

Thanksgiving came and went. We ate, we slept, we watched the Macey's Day parade. There was a lot of food there and lots of leftovers too.

The next day, I knew that I needed to address the needs of the car. I knew I needed a new axle for one of the sides. I got under the car and looked for other problems. Sure enough both needed replacing. So, off to autozone for parts. To axles and hours later, along with a new oil filter and oil, we lowered the car. When I was putting the oil into the car, I noticed that the red cover on our alternator was slightly broken or sindged. I pulled it back to reveal that there was a lot of corrosion around the post. The housing was also discolored. Upon further analysis, we realized that the terminal had been arcing to the grounded housing. That was sad since I had installed that alternator only 3 months earlier.

So, with two axles and an alternator in hand, I got back my core and a replacement alternator... since I had the lifetime warranty.

Anyway, we finished the car and the floor and made it home only a few pounds heavier.

Well, here is a picture we wanted to add.who says a kid can't enjoy a good book... even if he can't read yet.
Until next time
