As you may or may not have come to the conclusion of in recent posts, we are adding onto our family with another little boy (or so the ultrasound would indicate) in the next month or so. So, this brings up the question, what are you going to do about fitting into that 2 bedroom apartment you have? Well, we are planning on keeping it for a while. After all, we can find space right? So, this post is dedicated to innovative solutions from our children to making it work.
First we had to get out the car seat. This can double as a chair apparently. This one seems to be working just fine for him. But, we don't want him sitting on his brother, so maybe another idea is in order for finding places to put people.
There is the idea of putting them all in the same bed. Of course this would be interesting as none of our kids can keep still while sleeping. But this one was their idea after all.
This was also innovative. Making a bed that can just be wheeled and towed around. Fortunately this one has only made it to the proof of concept stage.
Maybe living in tents is a good idea, you might think? Well... we start loosing places to sit at the dining room table, but we may come back to this if they start wanting their own rooms.
You can tell there has been a lot of thought going into this process. Sometimes when you don't know what to do, you just need to get a little more blood to your brain. Our kids seem to have figured out a way to do that too.
This much I know for certain, just stacking up won't work. No one can sleep, and as the kids get bigger, this hurts that much more.

Congratulations! I guess we're polar opposites? Or something like that? My four girls. Your four boys. Wow. Awesome.
We have all four girls in one room, but if you're still in Talla Villa, those rooms aren't really big enough for our set-up. Our place is small, but they have a youth bed, a toddler bed, and a bunk bed.
What if you found a bunk bed that is full on the bottom and placed two crib mattresses on the bottom? I have a friend who did that. There's a little space left between them. She put masonite board underneath to cover the entire size of the bottom bunk and then they had a bookshelf against the wall too, a small one that fit just between the two mattresses. That'd free up room for the crib.
And then you could also do a trundle bed once the baby's big enough for a bed. Just make a wooden box for the mattress and add wheels. We still use the one my mom made years ago when my youngest sister was a baby.
The metal bunk beds with full bottoms are usually pretty easy to find on Craigslist.

When it comes to filling up the living space, people are more like a gas than a solid. They will expand to what ever space is given. Is that physics?
